TIER Training Course Descriptions & 2016 Schedule
TIER offers a variety of training courses throughout the year at our headquarters in Gap, Pennsylvania to help you and your employees maintain the proper certifications. Taught by knowledgeable, certified instructors with extensive expertise in the materials covered, each course meets the criteria outlined in the OSHA-GHS International Harmonization Requirements. Should your training needs be more specialized, we can also develop a customized program to meet your company’s requirements on becoming or remaining compliant.

8-Hr. DOT / EPA RCRA (49 CFR 172.704 & 40 CFR 262 & 265)
Dates Offered: January 11, March 1, May 3, September 7, and November 2
Cost: $295 (includes HMP Book)
This course provides detailed instruction on DOT/RCRA regulations pertaining to the preparation and offering of hazardous materials, hazardous substances, and hazardous wastes for transportation.
8-Hr. International Air Transport Association (IATA)
Dates Offered: February 8, April 4, October 5, and December 6
Students will learn what is required to ship hazardous materials by air according to IATA guidelines.
8-Hr. HAZWOPER Refresher (29 CFR 1910.120)
Dates Offered: January 18, March 15, May 17, September 13, and November 8
This annual review class provides a refresher of the initial HAZWOPER training, and is required for all individuals who are likely to witness or discover a hazardous substance release, work on hazardous waste sites, or respond to a hazardous substance release for the purpose of containing, stopping or cleaning up a release.
8-Hr. HAZWOPER Awareness/First Responder (29 CFR 1910.120)
Dates Offered: February 20, April 12, October 16, and December 13
An introductory course developed to provide basic training to individuals who are likely to witness or discover a hazardous substance release and initiate an emergency response, for the purpose of containing the release.
24-Hr. HAZWOPER Technician (29 CFR 1910.120)
Dates Offered: February 20-22, May 15-17, and October 16-18
Provides training for individuals who respond to hazardous substance releases for the purpose of stopping the release and clean up efforts.
40-Hr. HAZWOPER (29 CFR 1910.120)
Dates Offered: February 20-24 and October 16-20
This course provides the initial training required for individuals who work on hazardous waste sites for the purpose of clean up or emergency response.
8-Hr. OSHA Permit Required Confined Space Entry (29 CFR 1910.146)
Dates Offered: January 31, April 26, and September 20
Designed to meet the requirements of the OSHA standard for confined space entry—for attendants, entrants, and entry supervisors.
10-Hr. OSHA General Industry Safety Course
Dates Offered: March 20-21 and November 13-14
30-Hr. OSHA General Industry Safety Course
Dates Offered: March 20-24 and November 13-16
Introduces general and detailed information regarding OSHA standards, policies and procedures for General Industry. Conducted by a TIER OSHA Authorized Outreach Trainer.
8-Hr. OSHA Elevated Platform/Aerial Boom Lift
Dates Offered: March 29, May 24, and October 26
OSHA requires employers whose workers use Aerial Lifts to ensure their safety and compliance. This course instructs workers on the proper and safe use of Aerial Lift equipment, as required by OSHA.
